" Welcome to our UK web site.  It has came to our notice that Richard Earl of Bradford has again been making unsubstantiated Insinuations on his Fake Titles Website.  His site implies that I am the representative for Prince Douglas in the UK, as though I am assisting in some sort of massive business affair selling fake Titles on the Internet.  I strongly refute this.  I run the UK Peerageconferred Web Site independently from the Prince's main web site, with the full approval of the Prince.  This site is mainly for the information for our British Members.  I do not & nor have I at any time, ever received any monies at all  for the running of this site or any other business whatsoever  concerning the Principality of St. Michel De Clermont  & I stand ready to defend & prove this.   

Lord Bradford further ends his excerpt by stating "Also you can find their British Representative, who terms herself - Her Grace, The Most Honourable Lady Fiona Beare, Duchess of Brownrigg, Baroness Le Ber De Tornese, Countess Di S. Sofia, Lady Prioress of the Order of St. Andrew of Jerusalem GB & NI - on her website, I leave you to judge the veracity of her "titles"."

I have asked Lord Bradford on what basis he uses to describe the titles of the Principality as bogus & I have also asked him to put forth the evidence that he has on this matter other than his own biased opinion.  Unfortunately I have received no reply as yet!  

The various titles of Nobility that I hold, were granted to me over a 9yr period, not only by His Excellency, The Prince Douglas of Clermont, but also by the dejure King of Epirus in Exile  H.R.H. Prince Davide  di S.Sofia.  They were all granted  on a gratis basis for my long standing service to both principalities & also for my service to my local community.

To grant titles of Nobility or Chivalry those that grant them must  have first been granted a Royal Title themselves from the Church.  This title granted by the Church anoints them "Fons Honorum" freely translated Fount of Honour.  Once one is conferred Fons Honorum, they are then at liberty at their discretion to grant titles as they may decide.  His Excellency Prince Douglas was created Prince St. Michel De Clermont in 30th April 1991 by Lord Alexander II  Patriarch of Antioch, The Great City of God of Syria & the Lebanon of Silesia, The Hellenes, Anatolia, Illyria, & all the country evangelized by St. Paul & St. Mark & of all the East Pastor of Pastors of the Eastern Orthodox Church Jacobite Rite & thus under this eparchy of the Eastern Orthodox Church (of which there are many) His Excellency Prince Douglas has the right to grant such titles for & behalf of the Principality.  (You may view the Letters Patent that was granted by the Patriarch to His Excellency by Clicking Here)

There is no truth whatsoever either in the suggestion that PrinceDouglas & the Principality of St. Michel de Clermont sells titles. Indeed each application that is received by the Chancellery is assessed on its own merits & a decision is made by the Prince as to whether or not the petitioner is worthy of honours.  Currently only 1 in every 6 applications received are accepted.  Equally, it is usual practice in most orders of Chivalry, that there are passages fees payable. The modest fees charged by the Chancellery merely cover the cost of  having to produce the letters patent as well as a small charitable donation.  No fees whatever are handled by the Grand Priory of Great Britain & Northern Ireland, nor any other Grand Priory throughout the world.  Nor do any Officers of the Priory of Great Britain & Northern Ireland or any other Grand Priory throughout the world receive any funding or remuneration whatsoever.  All work carried out is of a purely voluntary nature.

By the attacks that Earl Bradford has carried out on his site towards ourselves & other people, it appears that he is trying to make the statement that if titles are not granted by her Majesty the Queen or from some part of the Church that he does not agree with, they are fake.  It is a common misconception that only Her Majesty the Queen may grant titles.  In fact most countries grant titles of honour of chivalry, one of the most prominent his Holiness The Pope, but many smaller churches in the Middle East grant their own titles.  In fact they were granting them a lot earlier in history than most of the European Countries!  The Jacobite Church is one of these Eastern Orthodox Churches."
